ProRig Original Design Flip Toggle Systems

The ProRig Original Design Flip Toggle Systems are the newest, most streamline way of fitting stainless steel wire balustrade to metal posts.  You can use the ProRig Flip Toggle in conjunction with a number of other stainless steel wire balustrade systems including the Jaw Swage Bottlescrew System for stairs or ramp sections.

Simply hand swage the ProRig Flip Toggle fittings on the wire with a Hex Swaging Tool, drill a 6.0mm hole in one side of your metal post, insert the ProRig Flip Toggle and pull back stainless steel wire.  The Flip Toggle will lock into place allowing you to create the required tension from the other end of the span.

To order, simply measure the distance from inside post to inside post between the starting and finishing points of your posts and provide them to Miami Stainless either through our online Balustrade Builder or contact us directly via phone, fax or email. Your wires will arrive to your door pre-swaged to your exact measurements for a very quick and simple installation.

FAQ About This Method

Can I install this method myself? Yes, even someone with no experience can easily install all our wire balustrade systems.

Do I need any special tools? The ProRig Flip Toggle arrives at your door already swaged ready for quick installation!  You will only require common handyman tools such as an electric drill and drill bits which are available from Miami Stainless if required.  Simply check out the related products section at the bottom of each product page or contact us for more information.

What size and type of stainless steel wire do I use? Because the ProRig Flip Toggle is used in conjunction with most other wire balustrade systems, 3.2mm 1 x 19 stainless steel wire is almost always selected. This wire is the most functional for stainless steel wire balustrade systems due to its bright surface finish, attractive appearance, durability, strength and low stretch.

What spacing do I need between my wires? When using 3.2mm 1 x 19 stainless steel wire, you will usually need 80mm spacing (usually 11 runs) between your wires when using a standard one (1) meter high handrail. Please click here for more information on the current NCC Wire Balustrade Regulations.

Can I use this balustrade system on a stair or angled section? Yes, the ProRig Flip Toggle can be used on a stair or angled section as long as the opposite end also suits a stair or angled section such as the Jaw Swage BottleScrew System or Tensioner Swage Stud System with Beveled Washers.

What size pilot hole should I drill for the ProRig Flip Toggle ? You will require a 6.0mm pilot hole in one side of your metal post.

What is the maximum length run I can do? Most ProRig Flip Toggle systems can easily span up to 10 meters.

What size hole should I drill through my intermediate posts? A 4.0mm hole through your intermediate posts will allow the stainless steel wire to pass through and a 7.5mm hole will allow any pre-swaged Swage Studs to pass through. Please note: If you are using grommets, the required drill size is 11/32".

Can I take my balustrade wire around corners? Miami Stainless highly recommends that you do not bend your wire around corners; this can fatigue the wire, put excessive stress on your posts, and make it difficult to get the required tension on your wire to meet NCC Regulations.

Can I use this method if I have timber posts? No, however we have a number of different wire balustrade systems to suit timber posts.  Please click on the links above to learn more about each wire balustrade system.

Can I use this method if I have metal posts? Yes, the ProRig Flip Toggle is specifically designed for metal posts.

What do I need to get a quote? To get a free, no obligation quote you will need to know how many sections you require and the length of each section. You will also need the height of your handrail between your decking or platform and the underside of your handrail.  You can use the Miami Stainless Balustrade Builder to compare different wire balustrade systems at your convenience or contact us directly.
