Our Tensioner Swage Stud with Flip Toggle System is a popular streamline stainless steel wire balustrade system that utilises flip toggle instead of a rod terminal. Available to suit both timber and metal posts, the Tensioner Swage Stud System with Flip Toggle is perfect for single straight or stair sections. Please Note: It is not recommended this system be used where corners exist unless the intersecting wires are offset.

To install the Tensioner Swage Stud System with Flip Toggle, pre-drill holes in posts, for flip toggle end drill a 6mm hole in the inside face only and a 9mm hole for the hex head tensioner on both sides of opposide end post. Intermediate posts require a 7.5mm hole. Insert the flip toggle end of the 6mm hole and pull the wire to lock in place. Pass the opposite end of the wire through any intermediate posts and thread into hex head tensioner inside of end post. Use a spanner and 1/4″ allen key to tension wires and lock system into place.

Econ Lag Swage Bottlescrew System

Our Lag Swage Bottlescrew System is a streamline stainless steel wire balustrade systems for straight sections when using timber posts. To install the Lag Swage Bottlescrew System into timber posts, simply screw the Lag Screw and Lag Bottlescrew into your timber posts, thread the swage stud through any intermediate posts, attach the pre-swaged fittings to the Lag Bottlescrew and create tension by rotating the Bottlescrew. Please Note: It is recommended you use the extra Lag Screws supplied to pre-thread the hole before screwing in the Lag Swage Bottlescrew fittings.

Your wires will arrive to your door pre-swaged to your exact measurements for a very quick and simple installation.

Can I install this method myself?

Although the Lag Screw System looks easy to install, it is not recommended for use if you have limited experience installing a Lag Screw System.

Do I need any special tools?

Because the Lag Screw System arrives at your door pre-made from our factory you do not require any special tools.

What size and type of stainless steel wire do I use?

This method is almost always used with 3.2mm 1 x 19 stainless steel wire rope. This wire is the most functional for stainless steel wire balustrade systems due to its bright surface finish, attractive appearance, durability, strength and low stretch.

What spacing do I need between my wires?

When using 3.2mm 1 x 19 stainless steel wire, you will usually need 80mm spacing (usually 11 runs) between your wires when using a standard one (1) meter high handrail. Please click here for more information on the current NCC Wire Balustrade Regulations.

Can I use this balustrade system on a stair or angled section?

Yes, you can use the Lag Screw System on stair or angled sections.

What is the maximum length run I can do?

Our Lag Screw System can easily span up to 8 meters.

What size hole should I drill through my intermediate posts?

A 7.5mm hole through your intermediate posts will allow the Swage Stud pass through. Please note: If you are using grommets, the required drill size is 11/32″.

Can I take my balustrade wire around corners?

Miami Stainless highly recommends that you do not bend your wire around corners; this can fatigue the wire, put excessive stress on your posts, and make it difficult to get the required tension on your wire to meet NCC Regulations.

Can I use this method if I have timber posts?

Yes, you can use this system with timber posts.

Can I use this method if I have metal posts?

No, however the Jaw Swage Bottlescrew System with ProRig Flip Toggle is recommended for use with metal posts

Miami Stainless does not recommend the use of this stainless steel wire balustrade system to inexperienced installers.

Our Lag Screw System is a streamline stainless steel wire balustrade systems for straight, stair or angled sections when using timber posts. To install the Lag Screw Swage System into your timber posts, simply pass one end of the Lag Screw System through any intermediate posts and screw each Lag Screw simultaneously into your posts to create tension. Please note: It is recommended you use two people for installation of this system. It is very important each Lag Screw is tensioned at the same time.  It is also recommended the holes in the timber posts are pre-threaded with the extra supplied Lag Screws.

Our Jaw Swage Bottlescrew System is one of our most popular streamline stainless steel wire balustrade systems for stair or angled sections. Available to suit both timber and metal posts, the Jaw Swage Bottlescrew System is perfect for high use areas where children, pets or guests may pull on the wires.

To install the Jaw Swage Bottlescrew System into timber posts simply screw the supplied Screw Eyes into your timber posts, attach the pre-swaged fittings at the end of each wire by siding the pin through the Screw Eye and create tension by rotating the Bottlescrew using a ProRig C-Spanner.

Do I need any special tools?

For timber posts, the Jaw Swage Bottlescrew System does not need any specialist tools other then common handyman tools such as an electric drill and 4.0mm drill bit. You can also purchse our Screw Eye Drive Bit which allows for easier installation of the Screw Eyes into your timber posts.

Both Jaw Swage Bottlescrew Systems can easily span up to 10 meters. Spans of up to 16 meters can be achieved by using a Tensioner at each end, please contact Miami Stainless for further information.
